  • What do I need to do to bring my dog to daycare or boarding?

First we need a current shot record from your vet.  If you give us your vet's name prior to your first day we can call and do all the legwork for you.

Next we need to talk a bit about your dog; how he plays with other dogs or needs private care, if he is on a special diet or has any health conditions.

Then we need you to fill out some contact information in case of emergency and how we can reach you.

Finally, its the easy stuff like do you mind if we give your dog a bath in case he plays extra hard or if you want to recieve text messages from us with pictures or updates of your baby playing.  Then pick a plan and let us know how we can best provide you service and the fun can begin.

For boarding always bring your dog's current food to avoid any intestinal issues as well as his bed if it is sized to fit in a kennel and whatever treats or toys he plays with every night at bedtime so we can duplicate his routine as closely as possible.

  • Shot Records:

Always consult your vet for the latest and greatest vacinations necessary to keep your pet healthy.  We require current Rabies,  DPP Combo and Bordatella (Canine cough 6 months).

  • What happens if my dog is hurt?
Our number one priority over all else is to do everything possible to make sure that doesn't happen including frequent redirections, critical attention to dog behaviors that may lead to aggression, controlled play sessions and leader enforcement treating (we stop play frequently in the beginning to give treats, this teaches the dogs that good things happen when they come which comes in handy if we ever needed to nip a problem in the bud).  There are however, inherrent risks with dog play in any setting so we have prepared a plan in the event of injury.  First off, our play coordinators are all Red Cross Dog First Aid and CPR certified so the injury will be assessed for seriousness, treated if minor and an incident report noted so that you will be notified when you pick your dog up.  If we can't reach you and your dog needs emergency treatment we are always going to err on the side of caution and do what's best for your dog which would be to transport to your vet or a closer vet in a time critical situation.
  • What happens if my dog HATES daycare?
Some dogs haven't learned how to play and interact with other dogs and for them, we are happy to work with them to find that special buddy they enjoy.
If your dog is so nervous that he acts aggressively towards another dog or tries to escape we will always discuss with you a plan moving forward.  If your dog isnt right for doggie daycare we NEVER put them in a kennel and tell you he had a great day.  Your dog plays here all day.  We do not kennel them for long periods during the day and in fact they are outside playing anytime it is safe to do so.
  • What happens if my dog HATES boarding?
Some dogs don't like to be away from home, after all, who is going to protect you?  In the event your buddy is miserable, we will sit with them or let them sleep near the person staying onsite.  We also use pheromone therapy shown to bring dogs back to that 'safe mother dog feeling' as well as dog engineered 'musac' proven to lower dogs heart rates.  Best of all, since they played all day long, they should be good and tired by the time they are ready for bed.  If you are still worried, you can always call and check on them at any time -I would do the same thing!  You can also leave them with a shirt or something that has your scent that you wouldn't mind them chewing...it reminds them that you will come back.
  • What's next?

Hopefully you now feel comfortable leaving your best friend with us but please stop by for a tour at any time.  The next step is to email us at Julie@renodogpark.com and I can send you the form to fill out or you can stop by and fill them out at your leisure.
